Yaakov Feldstein Wows the Music World Yet Again with his New Hit, “Speak To The World”

After Yaakov inspired crowds around the globe with his song, “More Light“, he’s back with “Speak To The World“, a rocking new song which tells that very story while continuing to empower people to change the world.

The previous single released by Yaakov Feldstein, “More Light“, gained international acclaim when it was used as the worldwide anthem in Dance For Kindness on November 8, 2015. DFK was a worldwide flashmob in which tens of thousands of people in over 100 cities in over 50 countries danced a single choreography to a single song (“More Light”) on a single day, to promote kindness and world unity. In addition, the flagship location for DFK, Times Square, New York City, featured a live performance of “More Light” during the flashmob by Yaakov himself.

Although Yaakov never dreamed of having a global impact and touching so many lives with his music, inspiring others has been a driving force behind his songwriting. The positive messages he instills in his music are palpable through the lyrics and the melodies are sure to make you move. When “More Light” was selected by public vote as the worldwide anthem, he rose to occasion and put his all into having as big of an impact as possible. It certainly paid off, as people around the world have expressed life changing experiences that resulted from “More Light“, including acts of kindness and peace.

Since Yaakov’s songs come from an emotional place, deeply connected with real life experiences, it was obvious that he was going to write a song about the experience of performing in Times Square while knowing that people around the world were simultaneously dancing, coming together under the banner represented by his song. The result is “Speak To The World“. His story, his desire for an improved world, his musical strength, his modesty, and his lyrical mastery are all evident in this single that can boost your spirits and motivate you to get out there and change the world. An exciting new track with touches of rock, pop, and country, “Speak To The World” quenches our thirst for quality music while whetting our appetite for more from this young talent.

“Speak To The World is available on all online music retailers, including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, Mostly Music, and others. Link to Mostly Music: http://mostlymusic.com/products/yaakov-feldstein-speak-to-the-world

Lyrics:

Not sure how I got here, just know my mission’s clear
I’ve got a chance to say my piece
Words reach far and wide, if they’re real they’ll get inside
Carried by a tune they fly through the streets

Enter hearts through open ears, effects remain for years and years
So I sit with a guitar and pen
In a world of art my canvas lies in greener grass and bluer skies
It seems what moves me moves them

When you get one shot, to speak to the world
You throw your hands up, and let your voice be heard
If not now then when? If not you would it be them?
As the future comes why live the past again?

All these eyes I’ve never seen, suddenly fall on me,
Up here I’ll let nothing drag me down
‘Cause yesterday I felt small, now to the world I seem tall
Give it my all, make the moment count

Got a chance to change a life, sing and and dance to stop the strife
People listen to a message when its shared
If bringing joy is why you live, count up the moments that you give
We wish and hope, for others we should care

When you get one shot, to speak to the world
You throw your hands up, and let your voice be heard
If not now then when? If not you would it be them?
As the future comes why live the past again?

People dream for a lifetime
Dreams that seem to set us all behind
But I dream to bring More Light
Seems I’m not the only one this time

Yiddish Nachas II (or as they say, “twice as much Nachas…”)

It was just one and a quarter years ago that composer extraordinaire Yossi Green showed the world just what “Yiddish Nachas” really meant. Since that faithful (not fateful) day, the staggering amount of positive and encouraging feedback that Yossi has received from all over the Jewish has been, in his words, “overwhelming.“ One would have never thought that a real Chassidisheh album featuring Yossi Green songs not being performed by the usual well-known popular singers, but instead, sung by the angelic voices of faceless young boys from Kiryas Yoel in Monroe, NY would be able to reach out and touch the hearts of so many different types of Yidden across the world on such a deep level as it eventually did. It was this overwhelming response a mere few weeks after the first Yiddish Nachas I – Matuneh Toiveh album release that Yossi realized that he must continue on this journey and bring yet more “Yiddish Nachas” to Klal Yisroel. This week the news spread all over the Jewish World: Yiddish Nachas II – SIVAVON was in the stores!

As with the first album Yossi demanded that the same production team remain in place for the new Yiddish Nachas II – SIVAVON. Once again, engaging the multi-talented and capable Moshy Kraus as Producer and Naftali Moshe Schnitzler as Arranger and Orchestrator. Yossi calls them his precious חוט המשולש, a heretofore hidden treasure he cannot believe was right there in plain sight just waiting to form. When you hear him and watch him speak excitedly about this newly formed, Fabulous Heimish Chassidish TRIO, you just have to wonder. After so many years, BA”H, of involvement with Jewish Music why is he getting so excited about this trio in particular? What is different here than the multitude of music people, producers, arrangers and engineers in all kinds of combinations he’d been involved with throughout the years? He stops and thinks forming his words carefully, “First, the three of us all come from similar backgrounds and grew up in similar homes and we have always felt that so much real Jewish Music talent and ability lies right here in the hearts of those Heimisheh people we grew up around. We also all share the same opinion that Jewish Heimish Music and Song is an original genre that relates specifically to Frum Jewish audiences. Not like many who mock our genre believing that our music is just a poorer version of so-called ‘professional’ popular secular music! Some even believing that we involve ourselves here because of lack of opportunity in the vast open popular music scene!” Yossi says that over the years he’s always been asked the same question by many different listeners, “Why don’t you write popular music for the secular world?” He looks bewildered at this point in the conversation and asks, “The secular world? What in Heavens for? What would I accomplish with that?” And when stopped at this point and asked, “Accomplish? What is it you feel that writing music in the Jewish Music accomplishes besides providing dance music for Simchas, etc?” He sits back, takes a deep breath, his facial features relaxing visibly as slowly, a warm smile emerges and he asks a strange question in Loshoin Koidesh, “חביבין ישראל שסיבבן הקב”ה במצות. תפילין בראשיהן תפילין בזרועותיהן, ציצית בבגדיהן ומזוזות בפתחיהן?”. Last year did you hear young תינוקות של בית רבן singing and speaking these Holy words from their mouths? Last year was there even curiosity about this new passage in the Gemara? Last year did you hear kids singing the words from Shmonei Esrai אתה חונן לאדם דעת ומלמד לאנוש בינה? Oh yes, there are those who learn and are always curious and moving forward in Tefiloh and Yedias Hatorah. But you must admit that there are many more children AND adults who will now examine new interesting Yedias about our relationship with Hashem Yisborach. If that’s not an accomplishment worthy of pursuing,” he continues animatedly, “what is?” I am starting to get it now.

And apparently, so does this Heimish trio of musicians formed just under two years ago.

When asked to further describe the talents of Moshy Kraus and Naftuleh Moisheh, Yossi stops me short and exclaims, “No, that wouldn’t be fair to them. They require their own write-up in depth!” This write-up is about the songs and the purity of the children singing. I agree and tell him that I will hold him to that!

Yiddish Nachas II – SIVAVON is finally here! Children are listening, humming, learning new Holy words to songs and connecting; Parents are appreciative that their children are being entertained by Heimish Yiddisheh messages in songs (and they have been noticed listening loudly in their cars though there are no kids present at the time); Mechanchim are relaxed and unapprehensive about how is this new song going to affect the students… and as for Yossi Green?
I think he’s Shepping Nachas!

Well, not just Nachas.. Yiddish Nachas!
Well, not just Yiddish Nachas… TWICE as much Yiddish Nachas!
Isn’t that something we ALL REALLY NEED AND WANT MORE OF!

Singer/Songwriter Naftali Blumenthal Releases Debut Single/Music Video S.O.S (Source of Strength)

Jewish music and its styles have definitely grown and evolved over the years. Today, listeners Baruch Hashem have a wide variety of styles, from 8th day’s unique, fresh sound of blending both English and Yiddish lyrics to the Chassidic stylings of Yossi Green’s latest work of art, Yiddish Nachas. Music is a very powerful tool that can evoke a wide range of emotions. As many know, music transcends speech.

Naftali Blumenthal is a young man who has been diligently perfecting his craft as both a singer and songwriter. Since a young age, he has been playing several instruments, as well as honing his songwriting skills. Naftali’s style is somewhat unique. It’s not about fast songs or the latest trend. It’s about deep emotion and a more meaningful composition. His original English/Hebrew lyric compositions, with their simplistic musical accompaniment, make one feel it deep in their soul.

Naftali isn’t looking to become the next big thing in Jewish music or a popular wedding singer. What he is looking for is to share his music with the world, hoping that there are enough people who will be affected by it and impact their lives. That doesn’t mean that Naftali isn’t a singer in his own right. While learning in yeshiva in Israel, Naftali held many kumzitzes and had the opportunity to sing at many chuppahs. Those who have had the pleasure of the experience always inquired as to when Naftali’s original music will be shared with the public so they can listen to it any time they want.

Well, the time has come. This debut single/music video, produced by Shia Fried of Studio 123, is titled S.O.S. (source of strength). Naftali is showing the world just who he is at his deepest core. The song is about making the most of one’s life, in both the good times and the bad. While the video might be beautiful and simplistic, the music is sure to reach deep down inside the viewer/listener and grab them. It reminds them that regardless of class, position, talents and abilities, Hashem is the Ultimate source of strength. Without Him in our lives and minds, we lack the means to go on.

Source of Strength will be available online for digital download on iTunes, Amazon Music, Mostly Music and Spotify.

Lyrics

Even in the sweetest dreams, I long for you

When I’m feeling alive, the happiest time, you’re on my mind

Seems like it can’t get better where I am

But forever I need your hand

Some may say it happens on its own but I remember

Right before it all worked out, I called out your name

I looked above and I said

Hashem Oz L’amo Yitain

God please give us strength

Hashem Yivarech es Amo Vashalom

We need you now

We need that help that keeps us strong

Without you, we lack the means to move along

And even in the sweetest dreams, I yearn for you

To be my guide, sustain my shine, I need your light

I’ve come this far and I’ve got everything

To keep on going I need you desperately

Some may say it happens on its own but I remember

Right before it all works out, I call out your name

I look above, I still say

The Tish of the Year: For the first time ever, Viznitz Choir Meets Yoeli Klein & Ari Reich In A New Hit single “Bo Dveikim”

$

Destined to take the Jewish music world by storm, “Bo Dveikim” is a powerful new single from Yoeli Klein (“Vi’afilu Bihastara”), together with wonder child Ari Reich and the legendary Vizhnitz Choir.

“The melody is composed of two parts, composed at two different times,” explains Yoeli Klein. “The first part was composed by Shmuel Lamm and friends while visiting Tzefas. When the melody was sung for the Boreshtein Rebbe shlita from America, he was amazed by it and added the second part. The song reached its completion one day when a group of friends sat and sang it together for several hours after davening at the kever of the Rivnitzer Rebbe zt”l.”

The words for the song are taken from Shabbos zemiros, “Ki Keil yitein l’kol bo dveikim.” Indeed, the majesty of the Chassidic tish and the holiness of Shabbos resonate throughout it.

Yoeli describes his decision to bring the song to the recording studio: “After the passing of R. Yehoshua Asher Rabinowitz zt”l, the son of the Parisover Rebbe shlita, a fund was set up in his memory called “Keren Yeshuos Yehoshua Asher” to help frum teens. The fund is near and dear to our hearts, so the group of friends involved in creating this song decided to dedicate it to the fund and its efforts.”

Producers Eli Klein and Yitzy Berry brought together the finest musicians in the industry for this project. The solo is performed by Yoeli Klein, who touched the hearts of thousands with his song Ve’afilu Bihastara, along with wonder child Ari Reich.

Full of warmth and spiritual longing, it is already being sung for long stretches at Chassidishe yeshivos and weddings. It has now been recorded in a studio production for the first time.

This isn’t your parents dance album. Put aside EVERYTHING you know about dance albums, collections and such and prepare for a revolution. Gershy Moskowitz presents Dance365 with not only one of the best core bands in Jewish music for the last 10 years, the Freilach band, but the new voice of the future, Akiva Gelb.

Now Akiva’s name might sound familiar because he recently came out with a beautiful single titled “V’ezkeh“. He is also the lead singer of the newly formed Nefesh Kumzits Band. Gelb is quickly becoming really popular on the band stand, as he has both the range/control and energy to thrill guests at any simcha. After a recent job with Freilach, the idea for this new album began. The goal was to create an album one can dance to the ENTIRE year (hence the name Dance 365). This is not an album exclusively for the Purim season.

This entire album spanning 30 of the biggest hits was arranged by Freilach‘s very own Nachman Dreyer, who is sure to become one of Jewish music’s hottest new arrangers on the market. Dance 365 is a Gershy Moskowitz production and is distributed by Nigun Music. It hits stores March 3rd, 2016.
