Lulay – Zevi Kaufman- In Honor of Siyum HaShas 2020

$

0

Lulay is the recognition that HaShem’s Torah is what gives us our identity. It’s the realization that without the Gift we recieved at Sinai we’d be lost in the deepest spiritual poverty. Lulay is the recognition that Torah is not an “extra” , an “enhancement” of the human condition, rather it is the only tool that allows us to discover our true selves on the journey from self-expression to soul-expression in the service of HaShem.⁣⁣

Zevi has been involved in music as long as he can remember. A NY native, Zevi began composing and recording songs in his parents basement from his early childhood. With his parents and Rabbeim’s encouragement, a young Zevi began his first recording studio at age 13, inspired to attempt making his own music by his father, Dr Mark (Mair) Kaufman, a former Pirchei & Sdei Chemed records child prodigy.⁣

⁣Many of those compositions morphed into his debut album Music, Language of My Soul in 2010 , released while learning in Yeshiva in Jerusalem, where he chose to invest the majority of the next 10 years learning to see the world in its truest form . ⁣

⁣The result of over a decade of vocal technique development, songwriting, recording, production, and of course thanks to large doses of Siyata Dishmaya and the constant guidance of daas Torah, he has recently re-emerged on the Jewish Music scene with the chart-topping hits ASHIRA, KI TOV HASHEM & LULAY.⁣

Zevi sings with a rare passion and endeavors to impart meaningful messages through his compositions. His songs are performed at weddings and featured in concerts across the globe.⁣

Zevi gives a daily Shiur at Yeshivas Ohr Somayach , and a Technology for Jewish Educators Course for the Ohr LaGolah Rabbinical Training Program. ⁣

He is currently at work on a sefer on the topic of Music in Halacha & Hashkafa, an eagerly anticipated second studio album and is a sought after performer and lecturer.

With a great sense of gratitude and praise to Hashem I proud to present my debut single and music video, Hallel.

Chanuka is a time when we reflect on the גלויות past. It’s also a time when we yearn for the coming redemption-וקרב קץ הישועה. From the מן המיצר of מצרים through the ה׳ לי לא אירא of the מכביים.
During these time of עקבתא דמשיחא, through so much darkness, we need to find as much light as possible in ourselves and in others. There’s always more light to find, even if our past experiences will try to hide it from us. When we’re together, and we call out ה׳ לי לא אירא from the bottom of our hearts then there’s nothing that can stop us.

Lyrics:

A Special Message From GAD ELBAZ Plus A Special Gift!

A special message from Gad Elbaz

Dear Friends,Two weeks ago, Israeli MK Geulah Cohen passed away.

Once, on a visit to the Lubavitcher Rebbe, the Rebbe spoke with Geulah about Jewish youth, and said “They don’t want to hear speeches, you needn’t give sermons … you must light them on fire.

What are you doing with the fire G-d has given you?

“As we are now celebrating Chanukah, the holiday in which we light candles and ignite flames, these words from the Rebbe are all the more meaningful.

For just as the menorah’s candles are lit each night, so too, Jewish souls are ready and waiting to be kindled. They are waiting to be ignited with the fire of Torah and Mitzvot, as it is written, “A Mitzvah is a candle, and the Torah is light.”

Next month we will mark 70 years since the Rebbe assumed leadership and pioneered the idea of reaching out to every Jew wherever they may be, with the love of Torah and Mitzvot.

So as we celebrate Chanukah and mark this special anniversary, let us learn from the Rebbe’s teachings and utilize every opportunity to reach out to others with Torah and Mitzvot.

Allow me to suggest a practical idea for each one of us: during the next month, reach out to someone you know and give them the opportunity to do a mitzvah: Tefillin for a man, and lighting the Shabbat candles for a woman. And if it’s been a while since you’ve done the mitzva, you can start with yourself!

As per the custom of ‘Chanukah Gelt’, I would like to share with you my new song “V’harikoti Lachem Bracha.”
Happy Chanukah!

Shwekey at Universal Studios CityWalk Chabad of the Valley – 18th Year Chanukah Celebration

$

Chabad of the Valley’s “Chanukah at CityWALK” has earned a reputation worldwide as the preeminent Chanukah event on the Jewish music calendar; and this year against all the odds, with weather experts predicting a complete wash-out, outside of sporadic rainfall, the weather largely held up and families still came out in large numbers and flocked to the plaza at Universal Studios CityWalk.

A night of Jewish entertainment was featured on the prominent CityWalk stage that often plays host to some of the biggest names in the secular music world. This year Chabad of the Valley celebrated its 18th year at Universal Studios CityWalk and collaborated with DanielPro-Sharon Daniel Productions to feature Jewish music superstar Yaakov Shwekey. Shwekey captivated an energetic crowd with one hit after another. A combination of the dynamic Shwekey and the Hollywood style sound and light show spectacular also drew in many Universal Studios theme park attendees who were fascinated by the vast size of the Chanukah celebration. Earlier the Cheder Menachem Boys Choir opened the evening and were followed by rising star, Dovid Pearlman, a former lead soloist of the Miami Boys Choir, who recently released his hit song Chaver Sheli. Pearlman instantly connected with everyone as was clearly evident by the vocal fans cheering him on in the crowd.

Chanukah at CityWalk is produced by Jonathan Herzog and Rabbi Mayer Greene, along with the event’s behind the scenes technical director, Rabbi Yochanan Baitelman and Rabbi Yanky Kahn, the media liaison. Rabbi Greene, who also MC’s the event introduced Chabad of Studio City’s, Rabbi Yossi Baitelman, whose foresight and vision conceived bringing such an event into the heart of the Universal Studios. Rabbi Baitelman thanked the Chabad of the Valley team and also highlighted the involvement of Shmuly Shapiro of Fundomate, whose tireless efforts secured the Shwekey event becoming a reality after many years of conceptualizing such a show.

Chabad of the Valley’s Associate Director, Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder, after earlier welcoming Israel’s Consular General Mr. Hillel Newman addressed participants at the Menorah Lighting Ceremony, saying that “The Lubavitcher Rebbe had made the world a warmer and brighter place to live……these menorahs are being put up all over the world”. He then reflected on his esteemed colleague, the founding Shliach of Chabad of the Valley, Rabbi Joshua B. Gordon, ob’m, who “taught us a lesson that we can do more with less…..just believe in yourselves…Rabbi Gordon teaches us the quality of the Chanukah oil, that everyone is important”.

Culminating the evening, longtime supporters of Chabad, philanthropists Lyle Weisman, Gary Finder and Daniel Aharonoff kindled the 15ft Menorah situated in the middle of the CityWalk plaza.

Organizers thanked the dedicated staff of Universal for their tremendous efforts to make everything possible and also acknowledged Chabad of Tarzana’s Yochonon Gordon, who arranged logistics for Chabad’s giant Menorah to be on site for the occasion and Shaya Greene, who coordinated the video booth for the giant stadium-sized screen that was a focal point all evening, including a feature presentation showing a star studded highlights video of 18 years at CityWALK and the newly released music video, Ahavas Yisroel – Love Wave by Mendel Einbinder.

Chanukah at CityWalk was once again sponsored by an anonymous donor in conjunction with KRLA 870AM and many other corporate sponsors.

Welcome! to YTI‘s 2019 Chanukah musical release Al Hanisim by SIMZ. This brand new song was sung, composed and written entirely by one incredibly talented new addition to the YTI family – Sholom Bochner (Queens, NY), also known as SIMZ. What you are listening to here is YTI member Sholom Bochner’s (AKA SIMZ) first ever full scale production, resulting in something extremely original, edgy and full of light, a fresh take on the classic “Chanukah Song”. SIMZ somehow combined his sky-high musical and creative talent, humor, seriousness and a dose of Chanukah inspiration, resulting in a highly entertaining song combination we just don’t hear every day. The Werdyger Family Celebrate Yisroel’s New Album ‘Du Voint A Yid’

The royal family of Jewish music has gathered to celebrate the continuation of their legacy, the release of a new album by one of their own.

In a rare video, the renowned Werdyger family comes together to express their affection and appreciation to Yisroel Werdyger on the occasion of the release of the wildly popular new album, “Du Voint a Yid.”

Yisroel spent his childhood and formative years ensconced in the noble Werdyger family. A son of Mendy Werdyger, he absorbed the special sounds we all grew up with – the transformative chazzanus of his grandfather, R’ Dovid; and the music of his uncle, Mordechai, known as MBD, and his son Yeedle.

Sruly has had significant musical exposure from an early age, absorbing it with his alef beis. And you can’t have a more beautiful habitat to produce the “Sruly Werdyger” phenomenon than by growing up in the Werdyger family.

Enjoy the video!

Beri Weber – Hadran

A few years ago, superstar & singer, Beri Weber, who is one of the most sought after Chassidishe singers today, was appointed as Rosh Yeshiva in the now famous Yeshivah, Yeshivas Kochvei Ohr located in Monsey.
Since that commitment, Beri’s days (and even some nights) are strictly for the yeshiva, while the rest of the time he performs when he can and works on his musical career.

About two years ago, Beri purchased a beautiful song from the extraordinaire composer Hershy Weinberger titled Hadran.
And although over the last few years many bochurim in the yeshiva have Baruch HaShem finished many mesechtas, and there were many Siyumim, Beri still wasn’t ready to release this special song.

This Wednesday January 1, 2020 will mark the 13 annual Siyum Hashas. Hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of Jews worldwide studied one daf a day for over seven and a half years. On this momentous day over 90,000 people will flock to MetLife stadium and other locations to celebrate this amazing accomplishment together in almost a massive Hakhel gathering of the days of old.

It is NOW that Beri felt the time was right to release this very special song to help magnify the simcha that Klal Yisroel will feel on Wednesday.
Only then will all of Klal Yisroel together with Beri say and sing Hadran Aloch!
May we all be zocheh to finish and be mesayem Shas together again and again, with more people joining each and every year until Moshiach comes.
Mazel Tov to all those celebrating!
